William Henry Wortman (b. 1817) was the son of Martin Wortman (1771-1839). He married Mary Ellen "Ella" Wilmot who was the niece of Canada's fiery Lemuel Allen Wilmot, signator to the Charlottetown Accord. His grandparents, George and Mariah Wortman, came to Canada in 1766 from Pennsylvania.

Together, William and Ella had one son, William "Will" Wilmot Wilson Wortman (1850-1917).

Records in New Brunswick, Canada show William Henry Wortman still living as late as 1896. His second wife, Arabella Lavinia Beckwith, died in 1896.  The photo (below) shows William Henry Wortman, abt. 1861.
