As a direct descendant of George Wortman (b. ca 1745) I publish The Wortman Quarterly. My mission is to spread the historical news of the Wortman Family.  In November 2006 I published By George!  This is our Wortman family tree in nine plus generations.  Obtain a copy for your family.  Contact me.

I have been a teacher most of my adult life, and right now I channel extra energy into developing and producing our little newsletter.

Flo is my mother. She married Donald Harris Wortman (1918-1991) in June 1942. Don's lineage is from George and Mariah Wortman; Martin Wortman (1771-1839); William Henry Wortman (b 1817); William Wilson Wilmot Wortman (1850-1917); Harris Wortman, and then Donald.

Mother descends from Canada's earliest Orkney Island settlers. Her great-grandfather sailed with the Hudson's Bay Company and settled in Red River (Winnipeg) ca 1812.

Don Wortman was born in Winnipeg, CANADA. He served with the RCN in World War II, and later worked for the Federal Government of Canada as a hydrographic surveyor.

Wayne Wortman, author of this site, is their eldest child.
